0

would I have a better selection of 3d tools to produce 3d models and artwork by reverting from 18.04 to 14.04 Ubuntu ?

  • Primary thought is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is from 2014.April with 5 years of supported life. It reaches the end of it's free support in 2019-April, so if you revert to 14.04 LTS you'll soon reach the EOL, so you'll need to pay for continued support (Ubuntu-Advantage) and questions on this site will be off-topic (as EOL or ESM releases are unless specific to moving to a freely supported release of Ubuntu [ie. non-ESM & non-EOL release]) Will the work you want to do be done before 2019-April ? or you're willing to pay for security updates & support?

  • Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS, Trusty Tahr end of life is April 2019. I have never been able to find a Linux substitute for AutoCAD, (3D), I use it in a Virtual machine if I have no other option, but that is slow. Dassault DraftSight works pretty good as a 2D alternative and works with 18.04.
